What We Collect and How We Use It

Personally Identifiable Information

We collect the following personally identifiable information: name, postal address, email addresses, birthdate, and phone number. This information is only collected when voluntarily submitted by visitors to help fulfill a specific offer or request.  For example: to receive email updates or newsletters about the site, our products and promotions; to send you samples, if offered and requested; to enter a specific sweepstakes or other on-line promotion; when a visitor registers as a member of a web site; to help personalize the web site for you; or to respond to a question or issue in a contact or email section. Note if you choose not to provide this information, certain personalized features of the web site may not be available to you. The information you provide is used to fulfill your specific request, unless you give us permission to use it in another manner, for example when registering for a sweepstakes, you may opt in to receive future information from Nestlé.

A birthdate may be requested to verify a visitor’s age and help insure that we are not collecting information from children, unless it is our intention to do so.

To make the registration process easier, Nestlé has a "one time" registration feature, which is used across many of Nestlé's web sites. This means that if you have registered at one Nestlé site, and then enter your email address to register at another site, this new site will recognize you as a returning visitor.  Don't worry; you must still opt in to receiving future information from the new Nestlé site or Nestlé product.

If you elect to receive information from us, you may receive information by regular mail or email, depending on the information you provided at registration. From time to time, our outbound communications may feature products/services from other reputable organizations, companies or products that may interest you. Your personally identifiable information is not shared with these other companies.  All mailings come from Nestlé or its agents, who are bound to keep information confidential.

We do not share personally identifiable information collected at this site with third parties, except for the limited instances noted below. The exceptions are:

  • We may share your information with our agents who assist us in administering the site and various programs and promotions. They can only use the information to administer our site and programs. These agents are required to keep your information private and secure.
  • From time to time we may run a joint promotion on this site with another company or organization. At the time of collection, you will always be advised if another company is also collecting information. We recommend you review that company’s privacy policy, and we may provide a link to that company’s privacy policy.
  • Sometimes we run programs featuring another company’s service or products and you are given the opportunity to opt in to future receipt of information from that company. We recommend you review that company’s privacy policy, and we may provide a link to that company’s privacy policy.
  • We may also disclose personally identifiable information if we are required to comply with laws, or if in our good faith judgment, such action is reasonably necessary to comply with legal process, to respond to any claims, or to protect the rights of Nestlé, its customers and the public.
  • In the event of an acquisition of all or part of Nestlé by another company, or in the event that Nestlé were to sell or dispose of all or a part of the Nestlé business, the acquirer would have access to the information maintained by that Nestlé business, which could include personally identifiable information, subject to applicable law.  Similarly, information may be transferred as part of a reorganization or insolvency proceeding.

Nestlé may on occasion combine information we receive with outside records to enhance our consumer profiles for our own marketing purposes.

Children’s Privacy (under 13 years old)

For the most part, the general privacy practices of this web site, as stated in this Privacy Policy, are followed for children under 13 years old.  Nestlé handles certain aspects of the collection of information from children under 13 differently from the collection of information from older web site visitors. Specifically:

Children can surf this site, view content, and play games without providing personally identifiable information (e.g., name and email address).

We ask birthdate for screening purposes.

Children may be asked to provide a screen name and password to use some of our site features.  We may use a child’s birthday (month and day only) as an easily remembered password. Screen names and passwords are not personally identifiable information.  Screen names are often used to keep track of high scores, to store favorites, to personalize Web sites, allow access to a Club or section of the sites, etc.  For posting high scores, questions and answers we also request city and state.

Some site features, sweepstakes/contests and newsletters for example, require that children provide some or all of the following personally identifiable information: first name and last initial, email address and parent’s email address.  We often collect a screen name and password at this time, too.  When a child signs up for one of these site features, the parent is notified by email that the child has registered for a particular site feature. The parent is given 72 hours to object (opt out) to the child's participation.  If a parent objects, the information provided at registration is not retained.  Also, the parent is contacted if a child wins a sweepstakes/contest prize, and written parental consent is required prior to awarding any prize. We do not collect more personally identifiable information than necessary to participate in any of the site’s features.

To send a friend an email or electronic postcard from this site, a child will submit names and email addresses.  This information is used on a one-time basis to facilitate the communication and is not further retained by Nestlé. Similarly, this web site may allow a child to send us an email about a web site technical matter and his email address is used for reply purposes only and not retained.  Parents are not notified of these one-time uses.

From time to time children may be asked to answer optional survey questions. Surveys generally deal with the site, product preferences, and interests.  We may ask for age or age ranges, gender, and other non-personally identifiable information.  Information gathered from polls and surveys are for internal marketing purposes and may be shared in aggregate form with third parties.

Except for the following instances we do not share personally identifiable information collected from children at this web site with third parties.  We share the information with our partner agents who assist us in administering the site and various programs and promotions. They can only use the information to administer our site and programs. We may disclose personal information to comply with laws or legal process; or if in our good faith judgment such action is necessary to respond to any claims; or to protect the rights of Nestlé, its visitors, customers, or the public.  In the event we desire to share a child’s information in a manner other than what is set forth here, we will seek the parent’s prior permission.

We recommend that parents explore our site with their children and that they remind their children to check with a parent before providing any information about themselves.

All emails and newsletters from this site allow you to opt out of further mailings.  Many Nestlé web sites have an update information feature that allows a child or parent of a child who has registered for a site feature (electronic newsletter, birthday greeting, etc.) to access (via password) their information for review/update and opt out purposes.  Parents may also contact us (Click Here) or call us at (818) 549-6677 to opt their child out of receiving future information, review the information collected at the site, and with questions they may have about this policy.  To help us identify your child, please provide his/her first name and email address.  We may also be reached by to us at:
